Tortoreto is a quiet town on the Adriatic Riviera known for the beauty of its landscapes, for the lovely and spacious equipped beaches, and for the splendid promenade full of palm trees, flowers and greenery. In Tortoreto, you will find a wonderful tree-lined pedestrian path, pleasant during the day and romantic at night and a modern cycle path devoted to fun and sport, together with friends or family. Thanks to the new project of the Bike to Coast district that connects the entire Abruzzo coastline via a long cycle path (130 km), you will be able to enjoy the entire coastal landscape on long rides.
The quality of the sea in Tortoreto is excellent: every year since 1998 Tortoreto has been awarded the Blue Flag and, since 2015, Tortoreto has been awarded the Green Flag by Paediatrics for the best child-friendly beaches. Clear, shallow water near the shore, clean sand to build castles, lifeguards are present, colourful playgrounds, rooms to change nappies or breastfeed, green spaces but also ice-cream parlours, clubs and restaurants are just some of the requisites for the award of the Green Flag.

Not to be missed is the Church of the Madonna della Misericordia and the monastery of Sant'Agostino.
In Tortoreto, there is also a Nature Oasis, perfect for a family day to discover nature and the animals that populate it. The oasis spreads around a lake, where you can admire different aquatic species such as the Musical Swan, the Mallard, the Common Moretta and many others.
Organised guided excursions are specifically aimed at exploring its flora and fauna. The main nature trail, equipped for the handicapped, starts from the visitor centre, runs along the lake and leads to the various ponds and lakes.
